World Earth Day Celebrations – Candle Light Vigil to Save Yamuna

The following is an appeal from Shri Manoj Misra of the Yamuna Jiye Abhyian to the citizens of Delhi.

This is to invite you all on the occassion of the World Earth Day to a Candle Light Vigil planned on 22 April 2007 (Sunday) beginning 630 pm (1830 hrs) onwards (for an hour or so) to register our disapproval on the state’s plan to construct residential and commercial structures including hotels  in the river bed in the name of CG 2010 village.

The vigil is planned at the side road (leading to the proposed site of the CG village) starting from the NH 24 (as you cross NZM Bridge towards Mayur Vihar). The site is prominantly visible and easy to access. All relevant authorities have been duly notified about our plan for this event.

In case of confusion about the location kindly contact me (Manoj Misra) at 9910153601.

Regards,
Manoj

The already dying Yamuna is now going to be killed in a very planned way. This may be our last chance to save the River…and secure our future.
