Don’t just recycle – freecycle!

The Freecycle Group – is an international network of a large number of city based groups with members from across the globe. It’s a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills.

Freecycle(TM)

The Delhi Freecycle™ group, part of the global Freecycle Network(TM) is open to all who want to “recycle” that special something rather than throw it away. Whether it’s an old gadget, a fax machine, piano or an old door, you can post it on the Delhi Freecycle Yahoo Group for someone who may make better use of it. Or maybe you’re looking to acquire something yourself! Just post it on the Yahoo! group and you will help the city reduce its waste burden. Non-profit groups and social enterprises are also welcome to participate in the group! One main rule to be followed is that everything posted must be free.

The Olympic Torch in Delhi: Rajpath to Rajghat

Olympic Torch 2008After traveling through America, Africa and Europe, the much hyped Olympic Torch is finally in Delhi (India)! While a few last minute announced names will be running with the torch at Rajpath, an alternative, non-confrontational Olympic Torch christened Tibetan-Indian Freedom and Peace Torch will be relayed at Rajghat. While the former has almost similar (a lot more, according to media reports) security arrangements as during the Republic Day Parade, the latter is a march open to all citizens who stand for Peace and Freedom.
