NCAS invites applications for its Advocacy Internship Programme 2010-2012, which is an 18 month long programme which would include 6 months of fieldwork. The programme is so designed so as to cater to the needs of social activism today. The internship will enrich the participants with the political perspective, knowledge and skills required for effective public advocacy.
During the internship, a multidisciplinary curriculum and syllabus spread over 12 months will focus on various subjects viz. approaches to social change, policy analysis, issues in new social movement, research, campaigning and networking. The interns are expected to contribute to the body of progressive debate on ‘People-centered Advocacy’ that NCAS is engaged in.
Eligibility: The Advocacy Internship Programme is open to any person below the age of 25 years who intends to understand the world in all its complexities, has a strong social conscience, and values social commitment more than individual selves. Preferred educational qualification is a post graduate degree in any discipline with at least two years experience with social action/ human rights/ consumer rights group. A graduate degree is also considered for deserving candidates. Candidates will be carefully selected after attending a Youth Camp in Pune.
Stipend: Each intern will be given a monthly stipend towards living expenses in Pune for a period of 12 months.
Evaluation: A comprehensive evaluation of the interns will be done as a continuous process based on an agreed Assessment Profile.
