World Water Day 2011

International World Water Day is held annually on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. The theme of the WWD 2011 is ‘Water for Cities: Responding to the Urban Challenge’. Delhi Greens and the Dept. of Environment, Govt. of NCT of Delhi invite all to come take the “BE WATER WISE” pledge on this day and become a water warrior!

Save water

Delhi is the most rapidly urbanizing mega center in the country with an ever increasing population pressure which makes sustaining its urban growth a big challenge. A key factor determining urban sustainability is water and ensuring adequate water for all is indeed a task which is easier said than done. This challenge may only deepen and take the form of a crisis if much is not done today.
