The nations around the globe are looking for options to meet their future energy demand to sustain the economic growth. Nuclear energy is being considered as one of the major and most talked options globally. India too has opted nuclear as one of the critical alternatives to quench its growing energy thirst in the coming days. However, in the wake of the recent disasters, especially what has been witnessed in the city of Fukushima, Japan, certain critical questions have been raised on the overall nuclear safety regime worldwide. Since India is one of the front-runners in expanding its nuclear energy programme, its imperative that the nation must discusses the issue of safety in holistic terms.

With this as the backdrop, Toxics Link and India International Centre cordially invite you to a discussion on “Nuclear Safety and India”.
