1. Delhi Govt’s Dil se Diwali on Facebook

In order to keep pollution level low this Diwali, the Delhi government has decided to use social networking site Facebook to reach out to people. The environment department of the government has come up with a page on Facebook —‘Dil Se Diwali’ — asking people to say no to crackers.

2. 12th Five-Yr-Plan: CM invites suggestions

The Delhi government has prepared a background paper identifying public transport, water supply and sanitation, housing, medical and public health, education and environment as the focus areas for the 12th Five-Year Plan (2012-2017).

3. Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor to be completely green: Farooq Abdullah

The showcase Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor will be “completely green” and towns on the stretch would be environment-friendly, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah said today.

6. MCD plans children’s park in Old Delhi

Children residing in Old Delhi, Paharganj, Karol Bagh and surrounding areas will soon get an amusement park in their area. Taking a cue from Children’s Park at India Gate, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Friday approved a proposal for converting a large chunk of vacant land near Sadar Bazaar into a park with several rides and swings. The plot measuring 5.5 acre was lying vacant after the Idgah Abattoir was shifted to Ghazipur.
