Free Saplings for the Delayed Monsoon at Dilli Haat

Free Saplings at Dilli Haat – Just what we need after a good (delayed) monsoon!

The Department of Environment (DoE), Govt. of NCT of Delhi has been carrying out an effective plantation driver in Delhi during every monsoon. Saplings are distributed free of cost at various centers across the capital for being adopted and planted by citizens who are invited to enrich Delhi’s green legacy.  The first week of July is also celebrated as the Van Mahostav across India. However, the delayed monsoon this year makes the first week of September an excellent time for this plantation work, giving you time to go adopt a sapling and plant it somewhere close to you! Happy Greening!

For more info on finding a nearest free sapling pick up point near your house, write to contact@delhigreens.org with your locality in the subject line.

  1. I am enquiring as widely as possible for opportunities/ involvement /volunteering in areas relating to Sustainable development/alternative technologies projects, currently /or about to launch, in Delhi .My background is in film and tv production (Camera grip), though more recently in a UK charity funded sustainable development project in Tanzania where I project managed building projects for Income generation activity workshop spaces and a Volunteer accommodation compound.
Should an opportunity arise,I would be self funding, I would be able to commit for up to 3 months at a time – my wife will leave UK in Nov. to join a 1 year VSO placement in Delhi so I am looking to join her in Delhi for some of the time , if I can find a suitable , useful project to assist.
Your advice and assistance would be much appreciated , Thank you
