Neela Hauz in South Delhi: A wetland saved by citizens’ initiative 

The Department of Environment, Govt. of NCT of Delhi will be celebrating World Water Day this year by organising a half day workshop on “Revival and Greening of Water Bodies in the NCT of Delhi”. The Workshop will be presided by both the Additional Secretary (Environment) and Secretary (Environment) of the Government of Delhi and will be hosted in the Auditorium of the Delhi Secretariat.

Date: 22 March, 2013 (Friday)
Time: 10 am onwards (till 3 pm)
Venue: Auditorium, Delhi Secretariat, Govt. of NCT of Delhi

The Workshop will comprise the following four technical sessions:

  1. Presentation on Status of Water Bodies in NCT of Delhi – DPGS
  2. Presentation on Water Quality of Water Bodies by Dr. M.P. George, DPCC
  3. Presentation on Surface Water Treatment Technologies for Water Bodies by Sh. Rakesh Kumar, CSIR-NEERI, Mumbai
  4. Case study of a Delhi Water body by INTACH

The Workshop will conclude with a visit to the lake at the Delhi Secretariat.
