300 million people suffer from asthma globally. Asthma also causes about 250,000 deaths annually. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of asthmatic patients is expected to increase to 400 million by 2025. Taking children and adults together, there are nearly 30 million asthmatics in India today, which constitutes about 10% of the global burden of Asthma. This makes asthma a disease of particular concern, especially since the causative factors of asthma are only on the rise in cities like Delhi.
