Delhi Greens carries out internship programmes from time to time with an objective of engaging the youth from Delhi, India and across the world in helping green India and in creating more responsible, aware and active global citizens!
Most of our interns usually develop a long-term relationship with the organisation and continue to tread on the green path until long after the internship period. Delhi Greens now invites applications for its Summer Online Internship Programme 2016 (SOIP 2016).
The internship will be for a period of six weeks starting from the 4th of June 2016 and more than 80% of the work will be online. The internship is open to school students, college/university students and young professionals and an initial screening process will be put in place.
Selected candidates will be suitably oriented before the beginning of the orientation programme. The interns will be trained in a manner that they understand the various environmental issues and challenges and are able to take the initial steps in addressing them.
They would be involved in research, investigative writing and campaigning work for the ongoing projects of Delhi Greens. Some of these projects requiring interns as part of the SOIP 2016 are:
1. Green Media Network: Our flagship programme which includes the Delhi Greens Blog, the NE Greens Blog and over half-a-dozen other networks created for mainstreaming environmental concerns in the media and society.
2. Urban Ecology Virtual Lab: A Virtual Laboratory spanning the universities in Delhi, aiming at involving citizen stakeholders in exploring and understanding the urban ecological interactions and improving societal-environmental interactions for ensuring sustainable urban development.
3. Right Click Project: The project aims at sharing our Blogging and Social Media expertise with other individuals and non-profits and organisations in the best interest of “our common environment.”
4. Urban Ecotourism Project: The Delhi Greens Urban Ecotours invites citizens to explore with them the natural heritage of Delhi and re-connect them to the two life-lines: River Yamuna and Delhi Ridge that provide the necessary ecosystem services to all of us.
Delhi Greens will be inducting a maximum of 8 (eight) interns for the SOIP 2016. The selected candidates do not need to pay any fees and all out-of-pocket expenses will be borne by the organisation.
Interested candidates should send in an updated copy of their CV/Resume and/or a brief biodata along with specific projects/areas of interest to the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Last date for applying is 2nd June 2016, however the date is flexible depending on vacancy. Candidates may have to participate in an email/Skype based interview. Note that Delhi Greens is an equal opportunity organisation.
