The Vodafone Foundation, a registered charity in England and Wales, on 14 June 2017, announced that it will be expanding its ongoing education programmes to aid 5 million marginalized African children who have been kept out of the educational system from the beginning. The announcement came ahead of the World Refugee Day on June 20. The announcement also follows a UNESCO Research conducted in 2014 had found out that there are 263 million children in the age group of 6-17 years who are out of school. A staggering 93 million of these children belong to sub-Saharan Africa. A free health check-up Camp was organized by Emaar India at The Palm Drive located on the Golf Course Extension Road,  Gurugram. It was conducted by the real estate company, along with its health partner Bajaj Allianz and a team of specialized doctors from Park Alchemist Hospital, Gurugram and Lenskart. The Participants included The Palm Drive residents and site employees from Emaar India’s project sites on Golf Course Extension road. Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Pandav Nagar (Delhi) had submitted a Petition on 29 May 2017, alleging failure on part of Public Works Department (PWD), Government of NCT of Delhi and the Municipal Corporations of Delhi in discharging their duties of de-silting the drains for preventing water-logging in Delhi. The Petition, countersigned by Sanjeev Jha (MLA), was directed to the Delhi Assembly Petitions Committee for further probe into the matter.
