The company recently launched its 2018 Annual Report which outlines a year of activating tomorrow’s solutions to nourish the world. Cargill has mapped 2.3 M hectares in their Cocoa supply chain with World Resources Institute to combat deforestation and more than 4,75,000 farmers have benefited this year from Cargill’s training in sustainable agricultural practices. Cargill Business Services, a unit of Cargill India, attempted to enter the prestigious Limca Book of Records by making 27,707 paper bags in a record time of 40 minutes. This attempt was part of the Company's efforts to curb plastic pollution. The bags made from used paper will be distributed to the local vendors in the city with the help of United Way, Bengaluru. This was a joint initiative of Cargill Business Services and United Way Bengaluru, a non-profit organisation, in order to reduce pollution and promote green living. On World Environment Day 2017, the country's largest luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz donated a state-of-the-art vacuum cleaning truck to the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). The donation was made as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of Mercedes-Benz India. With road dust emerging as one of the key contributors of air pollution in Delhi, the deployment of the Mercedes-Benz donated Road Sweeper truck will assist in making Delhi's roads and air cleaner than before.
