Consumers are the reason a company exists, and with whose help the latter blossoms. The fulfillment of the best interests of these most important stakeholders, thus, becomes an unsaid duty for any enterprise. The concept of Consumer Social Responsibility (CSR) approach in business helps companies take initiatives towards this. One such initiative was recently taken up by Keventers, one of India’s oldest milkshake brands, in collaboration with the volunteer based organization, The Robin Hood Army, which works to get surplus food from restaurants to needy people in cities across India. YES! I am the Change (YiAC) is the flagship programme of YES FOUNDATION, the social development arm of YES BANK. YiAC has been harnessing the power of the media to inculcate responsible youth citizenship across India. As part of the Challenge, participants have to create 3 min duration films highlighting social issues and solutions. These films serve as invaluable communication resources for NGOs in addition to creating widespread awareness about issues of social relevance. The Fourth edition of YiAC has garnered participation from over 13 lakh individuals across 25,000 cities and towns in India. RB, USAID and EY launch Hygiene Index on World Toilet Day

RB, a leading consumer health and hygiene company, in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and EY have launched a highly innovative Hygiene Index program. The announcement was made at the Global Citizen Festival organised in Mumbai where millions of people gathered to support key global issues including hygiene and sanitation. The initiative has been taken to support of the Government of India’s flagship sanitation initiative Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Complementing RB’s Banega Swachh India campaign, the Hygiene Index focuses on six sectors - water, solid waste, sewerage, toilet, health and behaviour change communication. The Index will be calculated for more than 100 cities based on primary and secondary data collection and stakeholder consultations.

Infosys, a global leader in consulting, technology, outsourcing and next-generation services recently launched its Sustainability Report. The Infosys Sustainability Report 2015-16 is launched as per the Global Reporting Initiative G4 guidelines and is its ninth year of reporting on sustainability disclosures. The Report highlights that one of the buildings in its Chennai campus has been retrofitted with insulation to reduce the heat ingress by 25%, thereby reducing the cooling energy consumption and improving occupancy comfort. The building façade shields the building from heat which in turn provides greater cooling and lighting, resulting in higher overall performance of the building.
