    2. I live in Mohali Punjab. I have noticed that most of the trees planted in my city are non-native and highly prone to disease. My observation is roughly 10-15% of the large trees in the Chandigarh/Mohali area are either dead or in advanced stage of diseases. Another trend I have noticed in recent years that newer apartments, Schools etc are planting palm trees to keep their facade photogenic. Mohali has large open areas Apartment lots and School have plenty of open land yet we are
Insistent on planting palm trees. I would like to know what are the trees native to this area and ecologically beneficial. Is there anyone or place that I can find answers? Is there any way to get in touch with padmawati dwivedi/pradip kishen or any other individual or organization which could guide me? I’m planning on planting Native trees in and around our new mosque coming up in Mohali I have also spoken to two churches coming up in the area about planting Native trees in in their premises and on the roads near them. Punjab horticulture department though friendly has no clue. Most trees in Mohali and Chandigarh have been concretized over the last 4 years in the zeal to cover mud footpaths with concrete. I expect thousands of trees to die in the coming years because not this.

    3. Hello Sir/Madam,
We are a tech-enabled waste management company catering our services in Delhi/NCR & Gurgaon. Till now, we have converted more than 900 kabadiwalas from traditional business space into our online platform.
We encourage households to sell their solid recyclable waste such as paper ( newspaper, A4, cartons, etc.), plastic material, old metal scrap and many other.
Working hand in hand with Kabadiwalas, we have empowered Indians folks to sell their solid recyclable waste online just with a pop of fingers from our App/Website.
First time ever, we saw such an active environment portal in India. Very curious to get published on your platform.

    7. Hi,

I’m writting over here so readers of your blogs may take interest in it.

Firstly I want to introduce myself. My name is Tulika Raj. Currently i’m working in an IT firm located in NCR. I’m married and a mother of 3 years old boy.

My motto to write this is that, I’m concern about the loss happened by jungle fire in Uttarakhand.

As summer vacation is about to start; most of us with family or friends spend few days on hill areas, mostly in Uttarakhand. If possible we can plan something so that we can put some effort and try to recovery the loss happened over there of plantation.

    8. Nation First….

Subject: An appeal for the immediate intervention of the Press of India for preventing irreparable damage to Yamuna River Ecosystem in Delhi, during recent festival by illegal immersion of ‘puja samgri’ by the devotes and failure of the government to prevent this illegal act.

Ours is highly religious and spiritual country. In Delhi alone, it takes nearly 42000 Kg’s of flowers every day for people tomake their obeisance to Gods as well as to their dear departed ones. Along with the flowers come, the idols of deities, paper, plastic’s, coconut husks etc which are also immersed into our Rivers. The consequences are catastrophic, not only to the Rivers but also our entire Eco System. Environmental damage caused due to this is so high that the NGT Chairperson Hon’ble Justice Swatanter Kumar [on 13th January, 2015] had issued a JUDGMENT imposing a fine of Rs.5000/- on persons throwing Puja Items into YAMUNA River. The objective is to convert the River from Maily Yamuna to Nirmal Yamuna.
In this context, we would like to bring to your kind attention that During 14th To 16th April 2016 on the occasion of Navratras around 70,000 people will put near about 7.50 lac kg of sacred material in the Yamuna River Delhi.
The description of and the percentage of various materials that will be immersed in holy Yamuna river by the devotees, is given below:

      i) Semi fresh and decomposed flowers: 13 –15 %
      ii) Chunri’s, Books, Pictures, Idols, Images,Frames, Coconut Shells : 30 – 35 %
iii) Plastics, [ Poly bags, ghee / oil containers, bottles, plastic idols etc.] 10 – 15 %
      iv) Agarbatti-Incense stics& other Packs with Deity Idols: 15 – 20 %
      v) Belongings of the Departed persons [ clothes, shoes, slippers, blankets.] : 10 – 15 %
[ This has been assessed by our organization in past, by the segregation of the materials, collected by us for alternative disposal, as part of our project -PushpanjaliPravahKalash- see the attached information brochure]
      Thanking you,

      Yours sincerely

    30. The Trees are being felled along the Ridge for the Metro Airport Line; please let me know the latest on this issue. The roads that run along the Ridge can be easily used for the Metro construction as was done on previous ocassions also. Please spare the Trees. The whole area has been reduced to a park by continous felling of Trees on one pretext or the other. Fresh clean air is much more essential than Transport!!
