Gandhi Bhawan will be planting saplings to celebrate the day and will also organising a talk followed by a presentation. A talk on Environment Matters for Mosquito Control will be delivered by Dr. V. Thareja, Associate Professor of Zoology in the Zoology Department, Miranda House, University of Delhi and a team of students. The talk will be followed by a presentation on Road Safety by Hero MotoCorp Ltd. The National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) will be organising a painting competition on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June, 2016. The painting competition is open to school students and is themed on, Go Wild for Life - Zero Tolerance for the Illegal Wildlife Trade. The theme is as part of the campaign initiated by the United Nations in which Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has already expressed her solidarity. The Maurice Nagar Police Station in Delhi became the first police station in the country to have environmental friendly bio-toilets, a pioneering green initiative taken on this World Environment Day. The Bio-Toilets have been installed by Wockhardt Foundation, a not-for-profit organization engaged in social service and human welfare activities. Bio-Toilet is an innovative and complete waste management initiative which decomposes waste to water and biogas.
