Leading environmental and birding groups in Delhi invite all of you to join us on 13th February, 2011 (Sunday) for the BIG BIRD DAY 2011. On this day, different teams comprising birding enthusiasts will cover different parts of the Delhi city and around (and even other parts of the country), to inventorize a list of sighted birds. The idea is to record as many bird species for the day as we see. The tally would be of all the teams to see how many species we get collectively. Interested citizens can join any of the teams mentioned below. Two years ago the count was 227, last year it was 225. “Go Green, It Works”, A Low Carbon Campaign for CWG 2010

The Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) have jointly developed a low carbon campaign for Commonwealth Games 2010. Young Indian sporting icons are shown in real life situations promoting green behaviour. Launched with the theme and title, 'Go Green - It Works', the campaign is aimed at inspiring the common man to adopt green behaviour in his/her everyday life and lifestyle. Even the Shera is promoted and utilized in the campaign as the CWG Mascot is seen cycling, promoting the use of CFL and biogas, advising viewers to carpool and plant trees and live a green lifestyle. The Environment Film Festival, 2010 will be held on 4th-5th Dec 2010 at India International Centre, New Delhi.
