The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) inaugurated Delhi's First Waste to Wonder Park on 21 February 2019. The Waste to Wonder Park was opened to public by the Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh in the presence of Delhi's Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal and other dignitaries. The Waste to Wonder Park includes a replica of some of the Wonders of the World, all of which have been made from waste. These include, the Taj Mahal (20 feet), Great Pyramid of Giza (18 feet), the Eiffel Tower (60 feet), Leaning Tower of Pisa (25 feet), Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue (25 feet), Rome’s Colosseum (15 feet) and New York’s Statute of Liberty (30 feet). Ten Ways How You Can 3R Your Waste

Articles
Right from our very childhood, we are taught why and how we should reduce, reuse and recycle (the 3R) waste. However, very few of us implement this in our daily life perhaps because we find it to be inconvenient or because we do not want to put in extra efforts. It is interesting to note that when it come to selling recyclables to the local retailer or the kabadiwallah, we are all ready to put in that extra effort of separating the recyclables from the waste largely because it brings us monetary benefits. What we must realize and remember is that if we follow the 3Rs of Reuse, Reduce and Recycle in our daily life, it will definitely benefit our society while also helping us save money. Looking at the waste load generated by our civilization today and the very limited capacity we ...

It is indeed rightly said that childhood is a magic period! It is a time when when the child's imagination has no limits and her thinking is most beautiful. Given anything to make something creative out of anything, she will without doubt come out with some or the other adorable souvenir! This is what was experienced by the members and volunteers of the Delhi Greens 'Waste to Magic' project team while conducting a workshop at the Bal Bharti Public School, Pitampura. Environment Vs Development

Environment Vs Development

Articles
Ecology and Economics are closely related issues. Being a student of Economics, I have studied that inclusive development is not possible without adequate emphasis on environmental protection. Development and environment need to be seen as complementary, not antagonistic terms. After all, if there is no Earth left, where will development take place?! Today, when the world is facing the harmful consequences of global warming and depletion of resources, environment conservation has become a topic of global significance, not just an issue with local importance. The matter is of paramount relevance in a developing economy like ours, as environment degradation drastically offsets improvements achieved by economic prosperity, apart from having serious implications for distributive just...
