Rs. 800 Crores to Be Spent on Yamuna Action Plan Phase III

The Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Sushri Uma Bharti recently inaugurated a few schemes of the Yamuna Action Plan (YAP) Phase-III in New Delhi. During the inauguration ceremony, the Minister informed that an amount of Rs. 800 crore will be spent on YAP III. 85% of the cost will be borne by the Centre and the rest by the Government of NCT of Delhi. Giving details of YAP III the Minister informed that in includes rehabilitation/ modernization of Sewage Treatment Plants totaling 814 MLD capacity at Okhla, Kondli and Rithala, construction of a new STP (in place of old STP) of 136 MLD capacity at Okhla, rehabilitation of sewer lines/ rising mains in the catchments of Kondli and Rithala STPs and Public Outreach Activities ...

India Water Week is a key initiative of the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India for sharing best practices and exchanging ideas to identify timely solutions to critical water issues confronting India and the world today. The fourth edition of India Water Week was observed from 04 April 2016 to 08 April, 2016 in New Delhi. The theme for this year's India Water week was chosen to be Water for all: Striving together. Israel was selected as the partner country for this mega event in which about 1,500 delegates from India and 20 other countries participated.
