Invitation: Press Training on Climate Change, the Indian Story
The Indian chapter of The Climate Project – an international organization of 2500 people who were personally trained by Nobel Laureate Al Gore to spread the message of climate change through in-depth, clear and factual messaging invites the Delhi Press/Journalist community to a special presentation for media about India’s climate change situation. During this global meltdown a clear connection between what needs to be done to save the planet and how we can resurrect our economy is now visible.
A Presentation about India’s climate change story
(Followed by lunch and a Q&A Session)
Date: Saturday, 22nd November 2008
Time: 12.00 PM
Venue: The Press Club of India, #1Raisina Road, New Delhi – 110001
As a main partner NGO to Live Earth, The Climate Project – India (TCP-I) sees the importance of media in getting the real facts to people leading up to the event and have therefore arranged for this presentation. The presentation will cover the latest science, economic, biodiversity and social issues regarding climate change in India. It will include new slides from Mr. Gore’s office, including a host of materials produced by TCP-I. Media professionals will also be given a complimentary information folder with material in hard and soft copies to take home.
Note from TCP-I: Earlier this year over 100 Indian civic leaders were trained to do Mr. Gore’s Inconvenient Truth presentation. Our local network has already reached over 30,000 decision makers such as business executives, politicians and teachers. Our mission in India has been to develop the Indian story of climate change and spread awareness about these hard facts at both the domestic and international levels.
We would be very pleased to see you there, and would request your help in forwarding on this invitation to your journalist friends who would find interest in these subjects. In case you have other engagements and cannot join us on the 22nd, do pass this on to a colleague who can so that your publication does not miss out on this presentation. As space is limited, please RSVP so that we can be sure to reserve your seat. Looking forward to seeing you there.
