The key organizer of the even was the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), which is the principal agency under the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation for managing India's ground water resource. Ministry of Water Resources Announces Painting Competition on Water Conservation

The Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR) has joined hands with the Ministry of Power to announce a painting competition on Water Conservation. This competition will be conducted on the parameters similar to the ongoing competition of Bureau of Energy Efficiency to hunt for India’s Energy Efficiency Star. The method of participation and other modalities will remain the same. The Ministry of Water Resources is responsible for laying down policy guidelines and programmes for the development and regulation of country's water resources. And this step has been taken to raise awareness and seriousness among the young generation about the importance of water conservation and issues that the nation as a whole is facing at present.
