Job Opening: COP15 Campaign Co-ordinator with CSM

Center for Social MarketsThe Centre for Social Markets (CSM) has an immediate opening for a COP15 Campaign Co-ordinator in its Delhi office.

CSM is a leading non-profit organization with offices in India and the UK working to promote leadership on climate change and sustainability issues. 2009 is the year of action on climate change and CSM has a core focus on the United Nations climate negotiations. It is working to ensure that the Copenhagen Climate Summit (COP15) in December 2009 delivers a strong, effective and just global agreement.

This opening will be based in CSM’s Delhi office but the candidate will work closely with CSM colleagues in other regional and international offices. This is a full-time position which will suit a dynamic, highly motivated individual who is passionate about climate change and keen to be part of a transformative Indian agenda. International travel will be involved.

The candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating CSM’s input to the COP15 (and related processes), and work with CSM’s international partners as part of a global movement for climate action. Job Purpose:
The COP15 Campaign Co-ordinator will be responsible for ensuring that CSM plays a strong and influential role in the COP15 process – both at home and abroad at the preparatory meetings. The candidate will work under the guidance of the Chief Executive and Senior Management, but be expected to take initiative and identify opportunities for impact. The co-ordinator will keep track of policy and government initiatives on climate change and report on these for CSM’s various on-line and print outlets.

Remuneration:

Remuneration for this full-time position will be in the region of Rs. 32,000/- per month with salary increments depending upon performance.
