On 5 June 2020, 8 houses were swept into the sea in the Norwegian Arctic in what was initially reported as a powerful landslide near the town of Alta. According to CNN, land that was lost to the sea was 650 meters (2,133 feet) wide and 150 meters (492 feet) deep and officials are continuing to monitor the sea and seabed level.
