PM Pays Obeisance to Shankaracharya Hill in Kashmir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid obeisance to Shankaracharya Hill during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir on 7 March, 2024. The gesture is a timely reminder of the reverence we give to all animate and inanimate objects that make up the environment around us. Only when we remind ourselves that the land is sacred, mountains holy, rivers pure and air life-giving, can we achieve a sustainable planet with a promising future.

Shankaracharya Hill is located in Srinagar and is a sacred site named after the renowned philosopher Adi Shankaracharya. It is crowned by the Shankaracharya Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. A visit to the hill is not just a spiritual delight, it also offers breathtaking views of Srinagar.
