Padma Shri Sudarsan Pattnaik and WWF-India Unite for Tigers on GTD

On Global Tiger Day, 51 sand art installations by Sudarsan Pattnaik helped spotlight the critical role of tigers in preserving forests and biodiversity, urging harmonious co-existence.

Sudarsan Pattnaik is a Padma Shri award winner and acclaimed sand artist who unveiled the inspiring sand sculpture at the iconic Puri Beach on Global Tiger Day. As apex predators, tigers are not just majestic species—they are keystone indicators of thriving ecosystems that also support millions of people who depend on forests for their livelihoods. The event was graced by Shri Magar Dhanaji Raoso, IFS, DFO, Puri Wildlife Division, Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department, Government of Odisha.
