Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviews the model of Kaziranga Elevated Corridor in Assam on 18 January, 2026. Elevated corridors are crucial to the survival of wildlife in Kaziranga National Park, especially because of the park’s unique floodplain ecology. While floods replenish grasslands, they also force animals like rhinos, elephants, deer and tigers to move to higher ground. Elevated corridors act as safe passageways that allow animals to escape rising waters without drowning.
