(Draft) Tribal Rights RULES, 2007

After the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 came into place, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India has now put the DRAFT Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers(Recognition of Forest Rights) RULES, 2007 in public domain; inviting objections and/or suggestions particularly from persons likely to be affected by these RULES.

The date of Notificaion is 19th June, 2007 and objections/suggestions (if any) can be sent to the Joint Secretary to the Government of India (Ministry of Tribal Affairs, 7th Floor, A–Wing, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi – 110001.) within the next 45 days from the date of Notification.

  1. Now that the bill has been passed and the act is in its place….no more rules will stop the tribals from entering the forests. With the increase in population..and decrease in forest area…the outcome is anyone’s guess.
