Over the last century, consumption of non-renewable sources of energy has caused more environmental damage than any other human activity. Electricity generated from fossil fuels such as coal and crude oil has led to high concentrations of harmful gases in the atmosphere. This led to many problems being faced today such as ozone depletion and global warming. Vehicular pollution has also been a major problem.

As a matter of fact, the recent world is going through a severe energy crisis. Under such circumstances alternative sources of energy can play a key role. These sources, such as the sun and wind, can never be exhausted and therefore are called renewable. They cause less emission and are available locally. They can reduce chemical, radioactive, and thermal pollution to a large extent.

The film “There Is No Energy Crisis, There is a Crisis of Ignorance” is directed by the Australian film maker Richard McCarthy and is produced by Jennifer Donovan, Founder of Earth Vision Productions and Ashley Gardner, Winner of Houston International Film and Video Festival. This film demands that after viewing this film the viewer will realize a fundamental paradigm shift in thinking, from a belief in energy scarcity to awareness of abundance.
