DoE to Celebrate International Biodiversity Day at YBP with the CM

Biodiversity at YBP

The United Nations has proclaimed May 22 as the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues among the general public. Each year, the UN declares a theme for celebrating the IDB and the theme for 2011, the International Year of Forests, is Forest Biodiversity.

The Department of Environment (DoE), Government of NCT of Delhi in collaboration with the Center for Environmental Management of Degraded Ecosystems (CEMDE), University of Delhi will be organizing a workshop on Forest Biodiversity on 21st May to commemorate the International Biodiversity Day.


Date: 21st May, 2011 (Saturday)
Time: 09.00 am
Venue: Yamuna Biodiversity Park, Near Wazirabad Village

The Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Sheila Dixit will also grace the occassion. The Workshop will be held at the Yamuna Biodiversity Park (YBP) Near Wazirabad and will have experts from Forest Biodiversity field speaking on various issues.
