Volunteers Required for Yamuna-Elbe: An Indo-German Public Art Project

Project-YYamuna-Elbe Public Art and Outreach Project (Project Y) is an Indo-German initiative being organised on the bank of River Yamuna in Delhi! Project Y was initiated by the Ministry of Culture, Hamburg, Germany and is being carried out in the framework of “Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities”. The collaborative project is centered on the idea of creating ecologically sustainable rivers in cities. Project Y will be held in Delhi from 9th to 20th of November, 2011.

Delhi Greens calls for volunteers to assist in coordination and successful organisation of Project Y from 9th to 20th November, 2011. Throughout the project, art installations by reputed artists themed on River Yamuna will be displayed on the bank of the river. The volunteers will be responsible to manage the art installation alotted to her/him, regulate the flow of public, collect feedback, etc.

Pamphlets, Visitors Book and stickers for distribution to the public etc. will be provided to aid in spreading the message of the project and that of a clean, blue Yamuna. The project site for the festival is Golden Jubilee Park, Yamuna Riverfront at the Old Delhi bridge.

An orientation session will be held for the final list of volunteers followed by an interaction with the project proponents at the start of the project. A fixed daily stipend has been allocated for all participating volunteers. Amateur photographers are requested to get in touch as we are also looking to photo-document the project proceedings from a public perspective.
