Have You Sent Your Entry for Earth Day Shehar Green Karo Contest

April 22, 2016 will mark the 46th Anniversary of Earth Day. Growing out of the first Earth Day 46 years ago, Earth Day Network, a global NGO that works on environmental issues, engages today with over 22,000 organizations in some 192 countries for Earth Day commemorations.

To mark its 46th Anniversary, Earth Day is running a 46-city campaign in India titled शहर GREEN करो (Green Your City). Delhi Greens urges all citizens and organisations living in the 46 cities mentioned below to participate in this contest and compete for making a better Planet!

If you are a resident of one of the 46 cities listed below, do take the lead to make your city ‘Swachh’ and ‘Green’.  Clean it, beautify it, ensure its waste is managed, sustain resources, add to its green cover, reduce carbon emissions from vehicular traffic, shift to renewable energies, direct thoughts to green buildings…the possibilities are endless!

  • So what do you have to do?
  • Choose a name for your entry.
  • Click here to view and fill the Registration Form.
  • Fill it up, attach a photo/ video/ news clip taken of a spot/ something you want to turn environment-friendly.
  • Your time starts from March 1, 2016. You can send in your entries by April 15, 2016 15 May 2016.

Once you register, you will be informed where to send us the Post Project Completion pictures/ videos/ news clips – (any of these) to document what was achieved.

You stand to win a wonderful prize (in addition to a clean, green city and Planet) and all your efforts will be recognized on Earth Day’s international website and Facebook page.

The Results will be declared on April 22, 2015 (the 46th Anniversary of Earth Day).
