Tibet House, in collaboration with India International Centre invites all interested to a Spiritual Ecology – Annual Lecture on Buddhist Awakening in the Middle of the Climate Crisis. The Public Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Deane Curtin, Chair of Ethics and Professor of Philosophy, Gustavus Adolphus College.

Abstract: The climate crisis is an unprecedented challenge to the future of life on planet earth. Climate gases already released into the atmosphere will likely cause dramatic climate changes by 2030 , including coastal erosion, drought and famine. This talk will sketch out a Buddhist environmental ethic, the path of an eco-sativa. If will then delve into Buddhist social ethics in search of practical advice on responding to planetary suffering.
