India’s First Solar Boat Aditya Launched in Kerala by Piyush Goyal

The Minister of State for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines (Independent Charge), Shri Piyush Goyal launching the country’s first solar boat at Vaikkom, in Kerala on January 12, 2017. The Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, the Minister of State for Transport, Shri. A.K. Saseendran and the MP, Shri Jose K. Mani are also seen.

The solar boat, ADITYA, is a 75-passenger vessel which runs on solar power. It is definitely an innovative response to the climate crisis by shifting from fossil fuel based energy to solar energy!
