Lady Shri Ram College Invites Applications for Teaching Environment

Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi is inviting applications for the post of Assistant Professor for teaching Environmental Science to undergraduate students. A total of two positions are to be filled for teaching Environmental Science. Interested applicants need to apply through the University of Delhi (DU) portal. In a separate addendum, the College has also clarified that while they have advertised for the teaching “Environmental Science”, applicants can submit their application under the “Environmental Studies” section on the DU portal.

Eligibility

Applicant must have obtained a master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/ relevant / allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR (exemption from NET shall be granted wherever applicable).

Applicants who have obtained their Ph.D. degree from a foreign University/ Institution with a ranking among top 500 in the world University ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) The Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) The Academic Ranking Of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai) are also eligible to apply with or without meeting the above requirements.

Selection Process

The College has informed that direct recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professor will be on the basis of merit through all India advertisement and selection by the duly constituted Selection Committee. The number of candidates to be called for interview for this teaching post will be determined after screening of applications in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the University of Delhi. The selection process includes an interview which will be conducted by a board comprising the following members and at least three members shall form the quorum:

  1. Principal of the College – Chairperson
  2. Two teachers from relevant subject to be nominated by the Principal.
  3. One teacher from a related Department to be nominated by the Principal.
  4. An academician representing SC/ ST /OBC/ Minority/ Women/ Persons who are Differently-abled to be nominated by the Principal, if any of the candidates representing these categories is an applicant and if any of the above members of the Screening Committee does not belong to that category.
