PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates Global Millets Conference
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Global Millets (Shree Anna) Conference at IARI Campus, PUSA New Delhi on 18 March 2023. The two-day global conference had sessions on all important issues related to millets including promotion and awareness of millets among producers, consumers and other stakeholders; millets’ value chain development; health and nutritional aspects of millets; market linkages; research and development.
A commemorative stamp and coin were unveiled. The Prime Minister declared the Indian Institute of Millets Research of ICAR as a Global Centre of Excellence. Promoting India’s Millet Mission can prove to be a boon for 2.5 crore millet producing farmers of the country
