Invite: Sunday Climate Bicycle Ride

In its dedicated attempt at raising awareness about climate change, rising vehicular pollution and promoting Cycling, walking and public transport as the most healthy and environment-friendly way of commuting, the Delhi Cycling Club calls for the third Climate Bicycle Ride in the city.
Date: 21st March, 2010 (Sunday)
Time: 08.30 am
Venue: Ambedkar Nagar T-point–Chirag Delhi–Moolchand–Ambedkar Nagar (11 km)
The previous two Climate Bicycle Rides were held in Jun’09 (12-km) and Dec’09 (11-km), where more than 250 people cycled and signed pledge to promote the cause of environment and alternative transportation. A large voluntary pledge board will be installed at this third event as well, where participants will be asked to REDUCE THEIR CARBON FOOTPRINT in daily life and adopt green travel habits for a better and greener future of our city.
Additional Commissioner (Transport) of Delhi Government along with some senior officials will lead the 11-km Bicycle Ride and the event is likely to see participation of around 150 people from different walks of life and profession belonging to Delhi, NCR and several foreign countries.
ASSEMBLY TIME & VENUE : Interested individuals are requested to assemble by 08.15 AM in the parking lot on Ambedkar Nagar T-point. Those participants, who would be cycling in real traffic for the first time or after a long gap, should come at-least 45-minutes before the start for some useful cycling and road safety tips.
