MoEFCC Medini Award Scheme for Environmental Books in Hindi
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has initiated a Medini Puraskar Yojana starting from 1 April 2018. Under this Scheme, original books written in Hindi, published after April, 2015 and having at least 100 printed pages would be accepted for consideration for the Award. The First prize is Rupees One Lakh, the Second prize is Rs. 75,000/-, the third prize is Rs. 50,000/- and one Consolation Prize of Rs. 25,000/- will also be given.
The objective of this Award Scheme is to promote writing of original books in Hindi on Environment and related subjects such as (i) Environment Protection; (ii) Pollution Control; (iii) Environmental Impact Assessment; (iv) Ecological Restoration and Development; (v) Forest Conservation; (vi) Forest Resources and Development; (vii) Protection of Wildlife; (viii) Bio-diversity; (ix) Climate Change; (x) Conservation of Nature and Biosphere Reserve; (xi) Environment Education; and (xii) Nature & Environment related topics/subjects etc, invites entries from Indian authors.
Any book which has received any award, subsidy or any financial assistance under any similar scheme, being operated by Government of India or any State Government or any organisation would not be eligible for consideration for the said award. Authors, whose books have already been awarded by the Ministry, would not be eligible for participating under the scheme for the next three years.
Any Indian author may send his entries, duly filled in the prescribed proforma, along with seven copies of his/her book, latest by 30″ September, 2018 at the following address:
