MNRE Continues to Push for Renewable Energy

Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and New & Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi at the launch and release of various green initiatives and projects in Delhi on 10 June, 2026.

Highlighting a major milestone, Minister Joshi released a Report (click here for report summary) on Floating Solar PV Potential Assessment of India, which estimates the country’s floating solar potential at over 102 GWp and takes India’s total assessed solar potential to 3,445 GWp. He said the Ministry is working on a dedicated scheme to promote floating solar deployment across the country. He also launched an Online Portal for the Small Hydro Power Development Scheme, stating that it will enhance transparency and efficiency in implementation.
